What these reads provide
FA, Fahrzeugauftrag, contains order and equipment data. SVT Actual describes the read units and component versions; Target describes an intended state.
This procedure uses E-Sys 25.10.01 with an established vehicle connection. It retrieves and saves data. The files are not a complete backup of unit memory. The pair read here also differs from Factory FA retrieval, which contains FA only and no SVT.
Prepare the originals folder
Create a folder for the vehicle and read date. Keep its state unchanged between FA and SVT reads. If later editing FA, preserve the read original and use a copy.
Record the data source and SVT reading method. A dated file name helps organisation but cannot replace VIN and content checks.
Example
- Open Expert Mode → Coding. Select Read under Vehicle Order and wait for the FA tree. Load opens an earlier saved file.
- Expand FAList → FA → FZAuftrag → Header → Vinlong and compare VIN with the vehicle.
- Use Save under Vehicle Order to store FA in the prepared folder.
- Under SVT Actual, run Read (ECU) to retrieve unit information directly. Read (VCM) uses configuration management records.
- Wait for the list and inspect read messages. Select Save under SVT Actual and keep the second file beside FA.
- Check both paths and their association with this read. Resolve interrupted or failed reads before proceeding.
A visible list alone does not establish that all required units responded.
Use the saved data appropriately
Recorded configuration changes can make the read FA differ from factory FA. SVT reflects the reading state. Account for those differences when comparing or preparing NCD.
After replacement or an update, keep the earlier pair for comparison and assess inputs for the new operation separately. Successful saving does not establish completed coding or programming.
