What the KDS request and result are

KDS uses a request/response workflow for supported service functions. A compatible local tool creates a request from the vehicle and operation context, and the backend prepares a corresponding digital result when that request is supported.

A KDS token package is not a general license or a universal unlock file. It is normally tied to the request, vehicle context and workflow that created it.

Preparing the KDS request

  • Create the request in the exact local workflow where the result will be used.
  • Upload the original exported file without editing, renaming its internal content or converting its format.
  • Keep the VIN, ECU or service context and the local log together with the request.
  • Create a fresh request when the local workflow has changed or an older request is no longer accepted.

Submitting the request online

  • Sign in to OnlineTool Services and confirm that the account has enough credits.
  • Select the original KDS request file, submit it and keep the page open while processing completes.
  • When the backend successfully prepares the result, download the returned file. Credits are deducted only after successful preparation.

Using the returned package

Return to the same compatible local workflow that created the request and import or load the result according to that tool’s instructions.

Keep the original request and downloaded response together. Stable vehicle voltage, a reliable diagnostic connection and the correct local procedure remain necessary.

Why a KDS request may fail

  • The uploaded file is incomplete, modified or not a supported KDS request.
  • The request belongs to a different vehicle, operation or workflow stage.
  • The local software expects a different request or response format.
  • The upstream authorization service rejects the context or is temporarily unavailable.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload any diagnostic file?

No. The page expects a supported KDS request generated by the compatible local workflow.

Can I edit the request before uploading?

No. Manual edits may invalidate identifiers, encoded content or request integrity.

Can one KDS result be reused for another vehicle?

Normally no. The result belongs to the context of the request that produced it.

Are credits deducted when processing fails?

No. Credits are deducted only after the backend successfully prepares the result.
