Establish applicability first
This sequence concerns E-Sys 25.10.01 → Expert Mode → KDS Extended with a vehicle connection. Diagnostics must establish the need for Re-Pairing. The response must be intended for this operation and module.
Master is the central participant and Clients are protected components. An unavailable feature alone does not identify the required repair. Before ordering, establish that the chosen source provides a suitable Re-Pairing response for KDS Extended; the label KDS token is insufficient.
Record the initial state
Use Read KDS on Standard actions and inspect the participants. Run Quick check under KDS Status and save its result.
ERROR_CLIENT_NOT_PAIRED indicates an unpaired component. MASTER_OK_CLIENT_INVALID indicates a Client problem with valid Master. These messages guide further diagnosis rather than define all required work.
Example
On Extended actions, continue only for the operation established by the procedure.
- Select the required participants. Check whether the request covers them or the whole system.
- Choose Re-Pairing under Create a request file for a Secure Token (Set) and select Create request file.
- Save it unchanged with the vehicle, version and operation details. Check the source's response applicability before submission.
- Keep the response beside it. If participants change or another request is created, establish what the current procedure expects.
- In Write existing Secure Token (Set) to vehicle, select the corresponding response through File Name.
- Use Write Secure Token (Set), wait and save the messages.
- Repeat Read KDS and Quick check, compare states and test the component.
MASTER_OK_CLIENT_OK reports a normal state on both sides in that check. File selection alone cannot establish a successful write.
If work remains
Keep exact messages, request, response and operation parameters for a rejection. If pairing is restored while a function fails, continue diagnosis of equipment, software and settings. Further NCD or SFA requirements must be established for the actual unit and repair procedure.
