What an SFA package request does
The SFA workflow asks the supported backend for a package associated with the supplied vehicle and the factory functions available in that context. The returned file is prepared for use by a compatible local workflow.
The service does not create arbitrary functions and does not guarantee that every possible feature is available for every vehicle. Eligibility and package content depend on the vehicle and backend response.
VIN7 and VIN17 input
- VIN17 identifies one vehicle and is the most precise input.
- VIN7 can be resolved to a full VIN when the backend has a unique match.
- If one VIN7 matches more than one vehicle, use the full VIN17 or select the correct vehicle when the workflow offers a choice.
- Check the VIN before submitting because the package is vehicle-specific.
When to use rebuild
Without rebuild, the supported workflow may return an existing suitable package. Rebuild asks the backend to prepare a new package when the service supports that operation.
Rebuild should not be used as a general troubleshooting switch. It does not add unsupported functions, change vehicle eligibility or guarantee a different result.
Downloading and using the result
- Submit VIN7 or VIN17 and wait for the backend status.
- After successful preparation, download the ZIP or result file and save it with the vehicle context.
- Use the package only in the compatible workflow and for the vehicle for which it was requested.
- Credits are deducted only after successful preparation.
Common SFA request problems
- The VIN is invalid, incomplete or VIN7 is ambiguous.
- The vehicle or requested context is not supported by the upstream service.
- No suitable package is available for the vehicle.
- The upstream service rejects the request or is temporarily unavailable.
- The returned package does not match the version or stage expected by the local workflow.

Frequently asked questions
Can I enter VIN7 instead of VIN17?
Yes, but an ambiguous VIN7 may require the full VIN17 or an additional vehicle selection.
What does rebuild do?
It asks the supported backend workflow to prepare a new package instead of returning an existing suitable package.
Are all factory functions guaranteed?
No. Available functions and package content depend on the vehicle and backend response.
Can an SFA package be transferred to another vehicle?
No. Treat the result as vehicle-specific and use it only in the context for which it was requested.
